Champion SkyHi's Truth or Dare

          Kona had an interruption in his show career: an unlocked gate allowed him to roam the streets for several hours during some severe weather.  He managed to make it home on his own, battered and bleeding.  Luckily, no bones were broken, but it took several months for his spirit to recover.  We will never know what he experienced during those long hours on the loose, but he had to re-learn to trust strangers.  Each return to the ring, some of the fear would leave him, and I could tell he was getting more accepting of the judge’s attention.   I was so proud of him on the day he finished: a more difficult journey than most.

          I would also like to thank Kona’s owner, Brett, who always had Kona in terrific condition for the show ring — short nails, toned muscles, and perfect weight.   It certainly made finishing him a lot easier!  Thanks Brett!
